Upper class, or the “Elite” usually makes up only .09% of the population, earning sallaries that exceed 350,000 dollars anually. This class is mainly made up of multi-millionares, pollititians, inventors and those who have mainly an Ivy Leauge education.

Upper middle class makes up 15% of the populace, making anywhere from upper 5 digit income to over 100,000 dollars. These are managers and programmers, people with varying degrees from various college’s all over the country, and are notably the most common social class after recieving a college education.

Lower middle class makes anywhere from 35,000 to 75,000 and are varying from craftsmen and artisens to various semi-professionals. Most have gone to a trade school, or a certificate program. This is the most common social class, with 32% of the population making up this bracket. Working class is sometimes confused for lower middle class, and as other people pursue trades or small 2 year degrees, the percentage grows.

The final social class, making up 14-20% of the populace is the lower class (sometimes called the poor or destitue) these people make under 18,000 dollars annually and are in poorely paid jobs or relying on the goverment for substantial housing and living aid.

How many (estimated) calories do pets need? What pet food is part, but not all, of the solution to weight control. Dr.  Levy asks “How much exercise does she get?  Does she receive extra food that nobody thinks about?”

Dr. Levy suggests pets–and their owners–wear a pedometer to determine activity amounts both engage in daily.  Fix a pedometer firmly to her collar so that steps not swings register. For a larger dog, above 60 pounds, Dr. Levy says “Four or five miles a day isn’t too much.  Managing calories and activity allow you and your pet to lose about a pound a week.”

Average calories in pet treats are of concern. “Giving your pet a biscuit adds about 100 calories. But dental bones can add from 300 to almost 600 calories to your pet’s daily calories!”
Don’t feed treats in lieu of balanced meals. “Not all pet foods are created equal. She may like Bacon & Cheese-flavored strips, but each one has 30 calories. A bowlful isn’t good for her. Your pet may have a treat as long as she has healthy meals and you count the calories.”

After your child reaches a certain age, it does not work very well in treating your grown up child like a child. Many are still living at home while in college. Ways to help make the adjustment are below:

1. The same household rules can be kept. But relaxing them to fit your child’ own schedule makes life a little easier.

2. As much as you do not mind, make your child do his or her own laundry. That includes drying and putting the clothes away.

3. If you continue to baby your child, he or she may not have the necessary developed coping skills with what life brings to the table after he or she is totally on their own. Letting your child make grown up decisions now, while living at home, is a good way to let him or her grow. After all, you are still around him. Some grown up parental advice can help lead him or her to make the right decision.

4.  Nicknames might be too babyish. Ask your child what he wants to be called as a grown up and honor their wish.

5. Respect your child. He or she is beginning to build their own life. Their decisions and the way they see things are not necessarily going to be the same as yours.

Letting your grown up child develop his or her own skills to handle living totally on their own can be a hard thing to do. Especially while they are still living under your roof. At least, for a while you can listen to them and give them advice when you are approached.

Experience in raising children

As “poster-children of financial responsibility,” Jayne and Peter Winston went to their banker and asked for new construction loan.  “In less than a week, the loan was approved.  We were simultaneously approved for a locked-in mortgage rate on the new house,” Jayne says.

In September 2008, two weeks’ after the Winstons’ banker approved their loans (construction and 20 year-mortgage), their contractor broke ground.  Building on a lot they already owned , a series of unfortunate events began to unfold. Two of Peter’s private investment clients made risky trades and lost money.

Peter’s voice quivers: “I always knew I should have incorporated my business.  My business insurance was insufficient to cover the losses.  When Joe and Dan lost money, our dream died.  Everything we worked to accumulate was fair prey to these liars.”

That autumn, the Winstons’ dream home began to crumble. Peter and Jayne received a certified letter from the bank. “The construction loan was called in. The mortgage loan was cancelled,” recalls Jayne. “Peter’s health started to suffer.  He wasn’t sleeping.  We both thought we were going crazy.  At first, I thought, no problem, we’ll go to another bank. We’ve got good credit!”  The couple visited four other banks in the area with no success.

Then Peter had a heart attack before Christmas in December 2008.

Peter and Jayne still live in their original house. Recovering from the heart attack took many months. Peter lost his business and can’t find a new job. Jayne has a job selling mobile phones.  She says “We are slowly realizing we’re still alive, and are thankful for what we have,” Jayne says.

Peter remarks “If we can hang on, we’ll build that house yet.”
